BCR Update 10/29: Last weekend the Checker's team went back to OCS for twin 100 lap races. After the practices the team felt confident going into the both races hoping for strong results. Unfortunately Brianne and the team faced mechanical issues in both races, but they managed to bring home two 9th place finishes. BCR Update 10/17: This past weekend the Checker's BCR team had a 2-day show for the Mid-Atlantic 250 at Caraway Speedway. On Saturday the team qualified a strong 8th out of the 31 top-notch cars in the field. It was on Sunday afternoon BCR Update 10/10: For the 100 lap race this weekend the Checker's car qualified on the outside pole! After re-drawing for the inversion starting spot Brianne started 4th behind a former track champion and Busch Series winner. Within laps Brianne was in second trying to run him down. The entire race was run with them running 1-2 until the last 10 laps when another car made contact with Brianne going down the frontstretch. She was able to hang on and bring home a solid 3rd place finish. BCR Update 9/30: At Caraway this past weekend the team was looking for improvement, and that they got. Brianne re-drew 6th after qualifying 4th for the 100 lap event. At the start of the race Brianne fell back to 7th , but within a few laps came back to 6th and rode there for awhile in an attempt to save her tires. The breaks fell well for the Checker's team throughout the race and they almost had their first win, crossing the line in 2nd on the bumper of the race winner. BCR Update 9/22: This weekend BCR traveled to Orange County Speedway as Caraway had an off weekend. Being only the second time the team has been to the track they looked to gain more experience. Brianne went out and qualified a ½ a second better then her first time to the track and raced as high as 6th , eventually bringing home another 9th place finish in the 150 lapper. BCR Update 9/15: The team was at Caraway Speedway looking for another top 5, but unfortunately battled a bad set of tires all night and came home with a solid 9th place finish. BCR Update 9/3: The Checker's team headed back to Caraway Speedway Labor Day weekend looking to have another good finish. Throughout practice the team continually made changes to improve the handling of the #16 Ford. Brianne went out for qualifying putting down the 5th fastest lap, but re-drew 2nd for her starting spot in the 100 lap race. Although Brianne got a great start going neck and neck for the first lap she was forced to let out of the gas which gave the inside line the position and caused Brianne to fall to the back of the pack. The team fought back and came home with a 4th place finish. The team was also one man short this weekend due to Brianne's brothers' first football game of the season: the varsity starting sophomore had a great day getting the first touchdown of the season and 4 receptions! We hope you enjoyed Checker's burgers over the Labor Day Holiday! BCR Update 8/28 : This past weekend the BCR team headed to Orange County Speedway, a track that Brianne nor the team had ever saw until their first out of two practice sessions. The team decided due to the vast differences in OCS to any other track they had been on that they were going to use the day as a practice day, not wanting to interfere with current track points. Unhappy after qualifying 16th the team made adjustments to the #16 Checker's Ford, and attacked the 150 lap race coming out with a 9th place finish. The team hopes to head back to OCS later this season and improve their results! BCR Update 8/21 : The Checker's Ford was back in action this past weekend after a few weeks off for repairs. Brianne qualified 4th for the 75 lap race, but was inverted to 5th . Although the team battled a tight race car during the event, they still managed to bring home a 4th place finish. BCR UPDATE: Although the BCR team got off to a late start in the 2007 season, they are already putting down solid finishes. This past weekend Brianne and the team came home with another 7th place finish. The Checker’s Ford Taurus remained consistently quick throughout the 100 lap race, where traffic posed the only problem. The team looks forward to the next race in hopes of another great run. Brianne would also like to thank those that supported and wished luck to her and Jordy’s efforts in the “Dogswalk Against Cancer”. Brianne and Jordy to participate in American Cancer Society's "Dogswalk Against Cancer" Charlotte, NC - 6/3/07 - Dogswalk Against Cancer raises awareness and funds for the fight against human and animal cancers. It is about celebration, remembrance, and hope. Brianne and her dog Jordy will be walking in this event on Saturday, June

BCR Update 6/6/07: This past weekend Brianne and the BCR team headed back to Caraway Speedway in hopes of a top 5 finish. The team put down a 6th place qualifying effort, which allowed them to draw for a starting spot (top 6 qualifiers re-draw for starting positions). Brianne was slated to start the 100 lap race from the 5th starting spot, but mother nature had other plans. The race was eventually rained out and the team is headed back this weekend to start from scrath and re-qualify for the weekends events. BCR UPDATE 5/30/07: Since signing with Checkers the BCR team has been quite busy. In their first outing the team looked to gain practice throughout the 75 lap race and ended up with a solid 7th place finish. Unfortunately, the following weekend did not go as smooth; with a mechanical failure in practice the team went home early and had a few weeks off for repairs. After the unwanted time off the team came back in hopes of a better race day, although they battled with grip throughout the day they came home with an 8th place finish in the 100 lap race. BCR is looking forward to racing consistently in the coming weeks and as always is searching for additional sponsorship. |
